Coaching With Confidence is a comprehensive, practice‑driven learning experience designed to deepen and extend the foundations introduced in Ohio’s Instructional Coaching for Literacy course , which prepares coaches to support high-quality literacy instruction within a Multitiered System of Supports using Ohio’s Coaching Model . Building on the state’s emphasis on evidence‑based strategies grounded in the Science of Reading and aligned with Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement, this masterclass is led by two highly specialized instructional coach trainers with extensive expertise in adult learning, literacy leadership and school‑wide coaching implementation.

Participants will move beyond the introductory elements of the ODEW modules to engage in advanced, hands‑on exploration of coaching moves, data‑driven decision‑making and schoolwide systems support. The training provides deeper application of the guiding principles and roles outlined in Ohio’s Literacy Coaching Model , including universal, targeted and intensive coaching supports. Through modeling, case studies, simulated coaching cycles and personalized feedback, coaches will refine their ability to foster instructional change, strengthen teacher capacity and drive improved literacy outcomes across PK–12 settings.

This masterclass is ideal for instructional coaches ready to elevate their practice, apply the state’s coaching framework at a more sophisticated level and lead with confidence as they support educators in implementing high‑quality, evidence‑aligned literacy instruction.

Participants will be required to complete the ODEW Literacy Coaching modules on their own time ahead of weekly meetings.

Inspiration and motivation

"What makes Art of Coaching Institute unique is the time we focus on attendees getting to know themselves and their learning community. We do this through guiding teachers in building awareness of their behaviors, beliefs and ways of being – this is what leads to transformational coaching." — Sherry Kinzel.
